Paul Kingsbury

Paul Kingsbury

An Eminent, Internationally known, Seacoast Artist Biography

Mr. Kingsbury, a seascape artist, has lived in the Pacific Islands for fifteen years, crossed both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, and lived on 3 sides of the Caribbean over the past nine years. He fell in love with the ocean and his attempts to depict the surging surf and billowing clouds has yielded some great art over the years.

Paul was born in New Jersey and grew up in the mountains of Colorado. His art talent was discovered in kindergarten and was encouraged by parents and teachers. Paul pursued his love of art by continuous study and correspondence courses. He has taught privately and in public schools and worked with handicapped children to produce murals and stage art.

Prior to his successful commercial art business in Micronesia, Paul designed and built exhibits at Cal Expo in Sacramento. During his stay in the Marshall Islands, Paul's work for Alele Museum has become famous; depicting early island life, legends and historical events. Paul also produced the Marshall Islands Guidebook, presenting information, photos and artwork on current and past life in the Marshall's. One of the many friends left behind was President Amata Kabua who commissioned several works.

Since becoming dedicated to fine art, Mr. Kingsbury's work has been displayed in galleries and shows in the Marshall's, Hawaii, California, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, Belize and Nicaragua.

His love for the surging seas and dramatic skies is reflected in bold, brilliant realism. His works are created in acrylics in the style of oils. Paul uses a variety of techniques including transparent glazes, thin washes, heavy accents, dry brushing, color blending and meticulous detailing.

Mr. Kingsbury presently resides in Livingston, TX and is a member of several art groups including the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild.
